Happy Halloween!
So it's Halloween again already. This holiday get me all nostalgic, even more than other holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter really. It makes me miss being a little kid so much. My mommy and my grandmother would make me, my sister, and my cousin coordinating costumes, that were just too perfect. Some of my favorites were with my sis being Bo Peep, and me and my cousin being two of her sheep; me being the Ace of Hearts, my cousin being the Ace of Spades, and my sis being the joker; and of course being Native Americans. We won the costume contest every year, and weren't afraid to brag about it. Of course, the best part of Halloween is the candy stash you end up with at the end of the night.
I got a little of the joy of Halloween back when I started working at the Korner. The girls that were working got to dress up. I was always a cat. I made a leopard print tail and matching ears I made, with a short denim skirt, black tights, a black shirt, and black heels. It was really cute.
I miss those days. Of course, I miss everything about being a kid in general. Before you fully become aware of all the evil in the world. You learn that those you were raised to view as authority figures, are more corrupt than those you were raised to be wary of. When more abstract concepts didn't bother you, you just knew that God existed, you didn't need any proof. When being a good friend just ment being willing to play with someone on the play ground, and felt ok telling them who your secret crush was. *sigh* I want those days back.
