People Suck!

My cousin's four month old baby started having seizures a few weeks ago. It started out as a little twitch in her leg, which then progressed to full blown seizures. They went to the pediatrician and the baby had a seizure there. The pediatrician called a neurologist in. The neurologist didn't feel like coming in, and told my cousin to take the baby home and video tape the baby having one of this seizures and come back to see him in the morning.

How incredibly irresponsible was that?

So they took her to the ER instead. She got admitted into the hospital for a little while, and they put her on anti-seizure medication, and she was sent home. She is still having seizures though, and they've tripled her medication. Her meds now cost $2,000 a month. So yeah. This depresses me to a certain extent. So sad.
