Faulty Expectations
I was so eager for my visit from mom and Jessica yesterday. However, my hopes for a nice friendly visit totally fizzled. Jessica was in down right foul mood, ruining everything. I swear that girl suffers from a permanent state of severe PMS. She got snippy with me a few times, and I finally snapped and gave her a piece of my mind, which has been long over due. It felt wonderful. Some good did come out of it though, as my mother brought me some of her home made christmas candy... mmmm. Another one of my great expectations was also destroyed yesterday, when I missed the MythBuster's Christmas Special. I'm so disappointed.
It can really suck when you are looking forward to something so much, and either it doesn't come, or it doesn't turn out at all how you were expecting. On the flip side of this; however, are those incidents that occur when you are not expecting them to happen at all. Tonight's experiance is a perfect example. I'm minding my own business, on my way to deliver a pizza across campus. I step out of the door, and then, all of a sudden, I'm surrounded by a very large group of nearly naked men, in their underwear (and yes, there were several thongs in there) and some with Santa hats, singing "Jingle Bells" and wishing me a Merry Christmas. Not at all what I was expecting when I walked out that door. I definately provided some entertainment for me. Another thing I have not been expecting is the fact that my little goldfish, Iago, appears to be sick. He's bloated, and is turning from a gold/orange color to a reddish/pink color. *sigh* I hope he doesn't die.
Altogether though, these past few days have still been pretty good though. I'm fairly certain that I did good on my Cognition test today, and tomorrow is my last day of classes. That means that finals are next week, but as you can see on my side bar, I've only got two tests, and the one is only a pass/fail thing too. So, I'm a fairly happy girl yet tonight.
